Gilson Shows a Glimpse into the Future of their Cloud Connected Liquid Handling Solutions at Analytica 2016
Middleton, WI (May 10, 2016) – Gilson, an industry leader in manual and automated liquid handling instruments, today announces the next step in the company’s path to enable verifiable science and make lab life easier for researchers. In a press conference at Analytica, Nicolas Paris, CEO of Gilson, reveals the company’s direction of focusing on Internet of Things (IoT) cloud-based solutions to improve laboratory data reliability and reproducibility.
With over 59 years of developing innovative products such as PIPETMAN®, Gilson has enabled scientists to perform more efficiently over their careers. Gilson’s initiative focuses on the concept of the IoT, in which a network of connected laboratory devices sends and receives data to the cloud, where that information can be stored, analyzed, refined and shared by lab teams and distant experts. In this manner, scientists will have the most up-to-date protocols, results, and tracking information to support the result of their experiments. “The universal challenge facing 21st century life scientists hinges on verifiable data. Trusted and consistent sample preparation is at the core of this challenge. In support of this initiative, the company will unveil a prototype of Gilson LABHUB, a cloud-based solution for managing and tracking protocols. Gilson LABHUB tracks, records and relays the actions and performance of connected instruments to the cloud for sharing among a scientific team, helping to improve the accuracy of future data. In addition, Gilson will also feature sciNote, a free open source electronic lab notebook (ELN). sciNote offers the easiest way to manage your scientific data and safely store it all in one place. Gilson LABHUB and sciNote demonstrations are occurring at stand A3.315 throughout the show.

PIPETMAN® Comfort Handle: —an iF DESIGN Award Winner 2016
Villiers-le-bel, France (April 21, 2016)—Gilson announced today that the PIPETMAN Comfort Handle, a new pipette accessory for PIPETMAN® Classic, Neo, or G pipette that provides better ergonomics and adds character, received the iF Design Award 2016 in the Medicine/Health Care Product Category for its unique design. Evaluation criteria included degree of innovation, ergonomics, functionality, durability, and quality.
There were many competitors—the international high-profile jury assessed more than 5,000 entries from 53 countries to determine who would receive this coveted seal of excellence.
With an additional large finger hook and soft texture, this ergonomic handle allows for a better fit in the hand. The PIPETMAN Comfort Handle creates a natural feeling balance for the pipette to support your daily pipetting activity and aids in reducing the risk of repetitive strain injuries (RSI). New PIPETMAN® M: Red Dot Product Design Award Winner, 2016

Recently launched, the pipettes now include guaranteed performance in repetitive pipetting mode and a programmable custom mode, enhancing results and reliability.
Winning products were chosen by a panel of 41 judges composed of renowned specialists: outstanding products designers, respected design professors and specialized journalists, from all over the world. Evaluation criteria includes degree of innovation, ergonomics, functionality, durability, and quality. This year’s Red Dot competition received a record number of 5,214 entries from 57 countries, across 31 categories.

Gilson Launches New Line of PIPETMAN® M Electronic Pipettes with Industry Leading Guaranteed Performance in Repetitive Pipetting
Villiers-le-bel, France (February 22, 2016) —Gilson has redesigned and expanded the range of its easy-to-use, PIPETMAN M line of single and multichannel electronic pipettes. The pipettes now include guaranteed performance in repetitive pipetting mode and a programmable custom mode, enhancing results reliability. For sensitive biological assays like qPCR, repeatable results depend on accurate, precise pipetting, but until now most pipettes only promise performance in one standard pipetting mode both for standard and repetitive tasks. Gilson now guarantees accuracy and precision of the PIPETMAN M also in repetitive pipetting mode and ensures reliable performance from the first to the last aliquot. In the absence of ISO recommendations for repetitive pipetting mode for air-displacement pipettes, Gilson volumetric specifications for the repetitive mode are within ISO 8655-2 recommendations for standard pipetting. Five pipetting mode options enable to perform a large number of applications: pipet (standard), repetitive, mix, reverse and custom (personalized) with a fast access menu to all the modes plus the intuitive navigation. The new personalized pipetting mode lets researchers create their own multi-step pipetting protocols, using the simple PIPETMAN M Software interface, which can be executed automatically so there is no need for repetitive button pushing that could cause stress injuries. The PIPETMAN M Software can also be used to easily share protocols for improved security, reproducibility, and keep information traceability. The product update has also extended the number of models to give one of the most extensive volume ranges in the market.
